Founder, with wife Meirav, and Senior Rabbi of Ohr HaTorah, a Traditional-Progressive congregation meeting in West LA, in December, 1993. Ohr HaTorah is a congregation known for its spiritual devotion to worship services, community and Torah learning, often referred to as “Reform Neo-Hasidic.” Selected Current Positions: Provost, Associate Professor of Liturgical Studies and Rabbinics, Academy for Jewish Religion, Los Angeles Campus (graduate school for training of rabbis and cantors); Long time member of faculty of Dept. of Continuing Education at the of University of Judaism in Los Angeles, and has taught there many popular courses, mostly dealing with spirituality, Mussar (moral and pietistic literature), Jewish thought and mysticism/Kabbalah; Serves on the faculty of the Wexner Heritage Foundation, a national organization teaching Jewish lay leaders around the country. On faculty of USC Law School – Jewish Law and Ethics; and Lehman Teaching Fellow at the Brandeis Bardin Institute in Southern California.
